Penn Forest crash

State police at Lehighton reported investigating a two-vehicle crash about 11:36 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 22, along SR903, in the area of the Pocono Whitewater Rafting, in Penn Forest Township, Carbon County.

Troopers said Erica Santiago, 37, of West New York, N.J., was driving a Ford Explorer and slowed down and almost stopped due to traffic ahead of her.

Her vehicle was struck in the rear by a 1993 Ford Tempo driven by Samantha M. Miller, 17, of Jim Thorpe.

Miller and her passenger, Matthew Miller, 14, Jim Thorpe, and Santiago and her passengers, Daniel D'Errico, 24, Hector Torres, 19, Michael D'Errico, and Daniel D'Errico II, all of West New York, were all not injured.

Damages were disabling to both vehicles, troopers said.

Miller was cited for following too closely, troopers added.
