Theft of copper wiring probed

State police at Schuylkill Haven are investigating the theft of copper wiring from a Schuylkill County residence.

Troopers said unknown criminals cut the copper wiring to the house meter box of the residence of Michael Sitkus, located along Norwegian Woods Drive, Norwegian Township. The theft occurred sometime between Monday, Aug. 15, at 8:30 p.m. and Tuesday at 5 a.m. The property is owned by Michael Sitkus, of Minersville, troopers said.

Troopers are also investigating a theft incident that occurred in the parking lot of Renninger's Farm Market, located off SR61 in North Manheim Township.

Troopers said unknown criminals stole a 12-foot, 1996 Pennstyle enclosed trailer which was parked at the market.

The trailer is owned by Marie J. Welsh, of Sugarloaf, Luzerne County. The theft occurred sometime between Aug. 13-16.
