Barclay responded to a call from Boyer's about a retail theft. upon arrival, she was met by the manager, Anthony Sarakaput, who told Barclay that Filer took several items, placed them in a baby stroller, paid for only two items and attempted to leave the store.

Filer admitted to Barclay that she took five items totaling $22.64. There were numerous other items in the stroller that Filer said a friend has just given to her. Sarakaput was able to show that some of the items were not from the store. However, some of the items were in the store computer, but there was no evidence to prove Filer had taken at this time.

When asked, Filer said she took the items because she needed them, but didn't have money to pay for them. Filer told police she has two previous convictions for retail theft. a criminal records check revealed she has three.
