Identity theft seminar planned for seniors

Published August 16. 2011 05:01PM

Senior citizens in the Palmerton area may want to attend a free seminar to learn tips on how to protect themselves against identity theft.

The program will be held from 11 a.m. to noon Wednesday at the Village at Palmerton, said Marketing & Admissions Director Norma J. Kunkel.

"The seniors are very much a target of people who are trying to scam," Kunkel said. "I think it's a great seminar to learn to project themselves, and to be able to protect as much of their assets as they can."

Jeanene Holter, of the Attorney General's office, will speak about how to learn the latest tricks used by crooks; how seniors can protect themselves; and what to do if their identity is stolen.

The Village at Palmerton provides individualized personal care services that address the physical, social, and spiritual needs of each resident.
