Vehicle stop on I80

A vehicle stop along Interstate 80 in Tunkhannock Township, Monroe County, led to the arrest of two New Jersey residents on drug counts and the seizing of a valuable automobile.

State police at Fern Ridge said a vehicle was stopped for going 84 miles-per-hour in a 65 zone about 11:36 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 10.

The driver was identified as Asmat Amin, 21, of Iselin. He was arrested for driving under the influence (DUI) of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. His passenger, Brian Riascoc, 22, fo Avenel, was arrested for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

Troopers said the 2012 Infiniti M37, valued at $55,000, driven by Amin, was seized during the incident.
