A teen from a juvenile camp in Carbon County is facing several charges including burglary and escape.

State police at Lehighton said a 15-year-old male from West Chester, who is a resident of Camp Adams, in Penn Forest Township, escaped from the facility on Saturday, Aug. 6.

Troopers said he went to a residence at 332 Bear Creek Lake Drive, Jim Thorpe, about 6:45 p.m. and gained entry by prying open a window screen and climbing inside to a office area of the home.

Once inside he went through numerous drawers and jewelry cabinets. The homeowner, not indentified by troopers, returned home which caused the teen to flee. He was later located and taken into custody and returned to the camp.

He will be charged with escape, burglary, criminal trespass and criminal mischief, troopers said.
