S. Hill police say abduction try is being probed

Published August 11. 2011 05:01PM

Joseph Fittos Jr., chief of police in Summit Hill, issued a warning to parents after a possible abduction attempt in the borough on Tuesday.

Fittos said he received a report that someone in a black pick-up truck tried to lure two children - both females - into the truck.

The incident happened on North Market Street in the vicinity of the Fell Street Deli.

Fittos urged that parents talk to their children and have them use caution around strangers.

Children should be instructed not to approach any vehicles if they don't know the occupants, even if summoned.

He also urged anyone with information on this incident, or if any future incidents occur, to notify police.
