An arson fire destroyed a log loader in an incident in Schuylkill County.

State police at Frackville said the incident occurred in a remote wooded area along a utility pole line off Catawissa Road, in Schuylkill Township, west of Tamaqua.According to troopers a 1999 Prentice 310 log loader/de-limber located on a tract of land being timbered by Aungst Brothers, of Pine Grove, was set on fire destroying the machine and a quantity of logs that were ready for shipment. Several timbered logs were also stolen from the scene prior to the fire, troopers said.The damage to the machine was estimated at $30,000 and the value of the stolen timber at $2,000. The incident occurred sometime between noon and 3 p.m. on July 31.Anyone with information concerning this incident is asked to call troopers at (570)-874-5300.
