Fisherman drowns in MC Lake

An 88-year-old West Penn Township man died after he fell from his boat at Mauch Chunk Lake over the weekend.

On Saturday, around 1:30 p.m., Edward W. Sestakauskas, who was fishing on the lake, fell overboard after his boat capsized. He was found unresponsive and was life flighted to Lehigh Valley Hospital, where he passed away.

Attempts to reach the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission were unsuccessful as of press time.

Sestakauskas was the husband of the late Anna (Crevanus) Sestakauskas. He was an Army veteran, having served in World War II.

He is survived by two children, two grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
