Monroe arrests

Pocono Mountain Regional police reported on several arrests made recently by officers.

On Monday, Feb. 22, about 10:23 p.m. officers responded to Box 22, Stony Hollow Road, in Pocono Pines, to a reported domestic incident. Upon arrival officers were told by Wendy Lemise, 44, of that address, she and her ex-boyfriend, Dean Eppley, 47, of Pocono Pines, argued over the use of the telephone. During the argument Eppley allegedly shoved Lemise. Police said a witness, John Rhodes, 40, of Pocono Pines, confirmed Lemise's account.Eppey was cited for harassment.On Feb. 20 about 5:30 a.m. officers responded to a report of a suspicious person trying to get into an apartment at Snowshoe condo's in Mt. Pocono. On scene officers found Jesse Wells, 29, of Stroudsburg, in a foyer area outside the apartment door. He was extremely intoxicated, police said, and could not even speak to them. He was placed under arrest for public drunkenness and transported to the county prison in Snydersville.On Feb. 22 about 12:04 p.m. officers observed a Jeep Cherokee traveling southbound on SR196 in Tobyhanna with an improper inspection sticker. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver was identified as Michael Payton, 47, of Newark, N.J. A check on Payton was run and it was learned he was wanted for a parole violation in Essex County, N.J., issued to the sheriff's department.Payton was taken into custody and placed in the county prison pending extradition to New Jersey.
