Former Tamaqua man facing counts

A former Tamaqua man, now residing in Pottsville, faces charges in relation to an indecent assault in Tamaqua.

Michael Francis Ortlip, 24, who was residing at 214 Pine Street in February, when he allegedly fondled a 10-year-old boy. The boy was spending the weekend at the home, staying with some friends of his mother.

According to police, at one point the child was sitting on a couch, playing a video game, when Ortlip sat next to him. Ortlip then allegedly placed his hand on the boy's thigh and private parts telling the boy he had to keep silent about the incident.

The boy told his mother he then ran to the bathroom to get away from Ortlip and later told another resident of the home what had occurred.

Ortlip will be charged with indecent assault, indecent assault on a person younger than 16, indecent assault on a person less than 13 and corruption of minors.
