Coaldale Borough Council voted not to become involved in any way in the concept of a regionalized police department for the Panther Valley area. Councilman Robert Hoben said, "I think we should go on record as not being interested. From the cost analysis I have seen, this will not benefit our borough." According to Hoben, Summit Hill and Nesquehoning both came out against regionalization. Lansford hasn't acted on the matter.
