Theft of tub being probed by troopers

State police at Frackville are investigating the theft of a 400 pound cast iron tub.

Troopers said Tracey Lynn Wike, of 57 Hope Avenue, New Ringgold, East Brunswick Township, reported the white tub was removed form her yard. She told troopers the tub was in the yard for about three weeks due to remodeling work at the residence.

The tub was going to be scrapped by the owner, however, it was removed by unknown persons. The theft occurred sometime between 8 and 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, April 7, troopers said.

Troopers also reported investigating a theft from vehicle incident. Kevin Adams, of 506 Mountaintop Rd., in Kline Township, reported someone smashed the driver side window on his car and removed cash and his driver's license from the vehicle. The theft occurred sometime between 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, April 6, and 5:30 a.m. on Thursday.
