Fifty-five children from Lansford, Coaldale, Summit Hill and Nesquehoning scrambled for colorful plastic Easter eggs - all containing candy, and some with prize coupons - at a hunt held Saturday by the Panther Valley Public Library, 117 E. Bertsch St., Lansford.

The Summit Hill Community Improvement Organization donated 1,000 eggs for the hunt. Library volunteers, along with Library Director Debi Dodson and Assistant Director Bridget Cannon, also donated prizes and candy and hid the eggs in a field across the street from the library. Library board member Dawn Neyer coordinated the event, which also included story time and craft-making.
