Burglars used crowbars to force open three sets of steel doors in a $16,500 theft at Bright's Store in Lehighton. Using at least two vehicles to carry away the loot, the thieves selected 160 men's suits in the most popular sizes and valued at an average of $90 each. They also cleaned out display cases of 30 to 40 ladies' and men's wrist watches and broke open six cash registers to scoop up about $200 in petty cash, according to Frank Brunner, store manager. It was the first burglary in the history of Bright's in either Lansford or Lehighton.
