March 1, 1997 Northern Lehigh's Cory DeBias and Steve Hluschak both earn gold medals at the Class AA Southeast Regional wrestling tournament. DeBias gains an 8-3 decision in the finals at 135 pounds while Hluschak edges Panther Valley's Joel Hunsicker in the 103-pound finals. Hunsicker, along with fellow Panther John Vrablic (125) earn silver medals, as does Northern Lehigh's Josh Herzog (119) and Keith Blose (130) and Northwestern's Jake Trybulski (160).
