Tamaqua businesses struck by burglars

Tamaqua police are investigating a rash of burglaries that took place during the nighttime hours of Friday into Saturday and Saturday into Sunday of the past weekend. At least seven business locations were entered during that time frame.

Cpl. Henry Woods confirmed to the TIMES NEWS that unknown criminals entered and removed items from the Chili Dog, Pieracini's Market, the Tamaqua Pawn Shop, the Tamaqua YMCA, Grande Pizza, BRL Groceries and the Tamaqua Day Care Center. There was also an attempt to enter the Fresenius Dialysis Center.

Police do have a suspect in at least one of the break ins and are reviewing security footage.
