Nesquehoning church to celebrate 75 years

St. John the Baptist A.R. Orthodox Church in Nesquehoning will celebrate its Diamond Jubilee on Sunday, Sept. 19 with the celebration of the Divine Liturgy at 10 a.m. followed by a dinner at Penn's Peak at 2 p.m. Cocktail hour will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. There will be entertainment by Fred Douglas from 1 to 5 p.m. In conjunction with the celebration, the Blessing of the new Iconostas (icon screen) will take place at the liturgy. The celebrant will be the Very Rev. Protopresbyter Mark Leasure with the Rev. Robert Teklinski, church pastor, serving as concelebrant. Six other Diocesan priests will be celebrating the liturgy along with minor clergy. Jubilee committee members are front to back, the Rev. Robert Teklinski, Eugene Hrebik, Kim Henry, Margie Kokinda, Nancy Kerestus, Ilona Zubek, Pani Peggy Teklinski, Susan Bortnick, Vilma Sniscak, Teddy Patroff, Harold Henry, and Andrew Hudock. Not present is J. Richard Hallahan.
