Rep. John T. Yudichak, the current Democratic candidate for the 14th Senatorial District seat being vacated by the retirement of Sen. Raphael Musto, has announced that Emmett P. McCall of Lansford is serving as his Carbon County campaign chairman.

Yudichak, of Plymouth Township, has served in the state House for the past 12 years, having began his career after being elected to the 119th Legislative District seat in 1998. During that time, he has been a leader in legislation that includes expansion of the PACE and Children's Health Insurance programs, the Historic Investments in Education initiative, New Pa. Energy policies and the Growing Greener II program.

He is the founder of the Yudichak Family Lighthouse Fund of the Luzerne Foundation, a charitable fund that benefits libraries and youth programs, and serves on the advisory board of Penn State University's Wilkes-Barre campus.

McCall, who is currently serving his third term as the Carbon County Recorder of Deeds, will be responsible for coordinating the candidate's campaign appearances and activites in the area.
