Firemen's festival this weekend

The Labor Day Weekend Festival ( Sept. 3,4, and 5) sponsored by the Nesquehoning Fire Company #1 firemen, gets underway on Friday evening. The band "Monkey for Ransom" will entertain from 8 p.m. until closing.

On Saturday "Tammy G." will entertain from 5 to 8 p.m. followed by "Bounty Hunter" on the stage starting at 8 p.m.

On Sunday WMGH Live Host with Mark Marek will be on the grounds. Then from 3 to 7 p.m. the ever popular "Pennsylvania Villagers" will play under the pavilion. Bring your lawn chairs along. The Fire Truck Parade will start at 7 p.m. throughout the town with prizes awarded to top fire trucks. At 8 p.m. on Sunday,"Joey and the T Birds" will play for your listening pleasure. Also on Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m. there will be a kids' bicycle giveaway.

John McArdle, fire chief, says there will be food, rides, games, and prizes during the three day festival.

There will be a Chinese Auction held inside the fire house during the three days of the festival
