Western Pocono Lions of the Month are honored

ARGOT/SPECIAL TO THE TIMES NEWS Recognized as Lions of the Month of the Western Pocono Lions Club, by club President Helen Koshensky were, left, PCC Lion Christopher Sweeney and, right, Lion Kathy Pagano. Sweeney was recognized for again arranging the club's World Service Day, and Pagano for spearheading the club's first spaghetti dinner fundraiser.
Western Pocono Lions Club President Helen Koshensky recognized two Lions of the Month recipients and one honorable mention for that honor.
Lion Kathy Pagan was so recognized for the very successful spaghetti dinner fund-raiser she initiated and PCC Lion Chris Sweeney was honored for the success of his yearly World Lions Day planning ad participation.
Honorable mention went to PDG Lion Bob Argot for his involvement in World Sight Day.
At this meeting, the club bade a fond farewell to Kelly Kellie at The Hamilton.
Kellie was presented with a mum plant to which club members had added their own greenery in the form of various dollar bill donations.
Speaking to the club was PDG Lion Liz McElwee. Her topic was: Motivating, Mentoring and Membership Retention.
She also inducted two new members, Linda and Jeff Hinton.
The group will next meet at Ye Olde Saylors Inn.
Among the upcoming dates for the club are the District Rally, being held at the Polk Township Fire Hall in Kresgeville and a holiday party in December.
