YMCA hosts Halloween party, haunted house

The Tamaqua YMCA went all out during its first annual Tamaqua YMCA Community Halloween Party and Haunted House held recently at the Tamaqua YMCA, located at the old Jamesway Plaza.

The heavily attended indoor event featured large inflatable gyms, face painting, haunted houses, and many other fun activities for both children and adults. One of the biggest attractions was their upstairs haunted house, which included monsters, sound effects, small pyrotechnics, and a number of other terrifying props. One YMCA volunteer pointed out that one out of every third person "chickened-out" and turned back before finishing it.There were many other forms of Halloween-themed activities available for the children, such as a mini-haunted house, bowling, face painting, throw games, and inflateable gyms. Tamaqua YMCA branch executive Nick Zigmant pointed out the great success of the event and gave credit to all the board members, YMCA members, volunteers, and event sponsors that made their first annual Halloween Party and Haunted House a success.
