New program for veterans

Published October 26. 2010 05:03PM

A new program to serve veterans and their families is beginning in Allentown and is looking for the community's support.

Veterans Sanctuary, a division of Treatment Trends, Inc, is a new program that will provide residential treatment for drug and alcohol addiction and post traumatic stress disorder.

The organization is currently renovating the former church school building, owned by St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church on 24 S. Fifth St. in Allentown. This will be used in part as a 60-bed treatment center that will be accessible to veterans from across Pennsylvania.

Right now, the program is looking for donations and volunteers to help support Veterans Sanctuary.

To donate or become a volunteer, visit Treatment Trends' website at; or call (610) 439-8479.
