TERRY AHNER/TIMES NEWS Roxanne and Matthew Strohl, owners of the newly opened Tasty Maid Bakery in Palmerton, display some of their delicious pastries.
Delicious delights that are sure to entice.
All it takes is one step inside Tasty Maid Bakery in Palmerton to whet one's appetite.
Located at 316 Delaware Avenue, the business held its grand opening on Friday.
Owners Roxanne and Matthew Strohl of Lehighton said the shop is an extension of their business, which has had a shop in operation in Reading for 39 years.
"We wanted to expand our company," Roxanne Strohl said. "It's a nice town and close to home."
Strohl, who is joined at the Palmerton shop by her sister, Rebecca Foreaker, said baker Peter Hoffman makes all the baked goods at the Reading shop.
"We bake everything out of our Reading store, and take it to our locations," she said. "We specialize in Pennsylvania Dutch pastries."
Those pastries include sticky buns, shoofly pies, apple dumplings, cakes, and cupcakes, Strohl said.
Strohl said customers can be assured they'll receive quality products at affordable rates.
"We want to be young entrepreneurs," she said. "We have very low pricing."
The business is open from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday, and 8-2 Sunday.
