Rescue personnel work to extricate a male driver from a Chevrolet sedan that rolled over in Rush Township early Friday morning. The accident took place on Pine Creek, Drive, SR54, between Hometown and Barnesville, at approximately 2 a.m. after the driver lost control of his vehicle on a curve. The vehicle then struck a utility pole support wire, rolled over and landed on its roof. The Jaws of Life were used to extract the man from the car. He was then taken to the Hometown Farmers Market via ambulance, transferred to an awaiting Medivac helicopter and transported to an Allentown area trauma center. Rush Township Police were assisted at the scene by firefighters, rescue workers and fire police from Rush and Ryan Townships, Tamaqua and McAdoo.
