The following recalls were issued Oct. 1 - 7 by federal and state agencies:
Roman Shades: Green Mountain Vista Inc. is recalling Roman Shades sold September 2004 - August 2010. Strangulations can occur when a child places his-her neck between the exposed inner cord and the fabric on the backside of the shade or when a child pulls the cord out and wraps it around his/her neck. This recall involves all Green Mountain Vista Roman shades. These shades have a small sewn-on label on the back side of the shade with RN 107875. Consumers should contact the Window Covering Safety Council (WCSC), 800-506-4636, www.windowcoverings.org, for a free repair kit. Trampolines: Bravo Sports is recalling Trampolines sold January 2007 - September 2010. Incorrectly assembled trampolines can allow the top rails and legs to bend or break during normal use, resulting in partial collapse of the trampoline. This poses a fall hazard. This recall involves AirZone and Variflex trampolines with model numbers 137083 (with wheels), 137536, 137683, 138088, 138467, 138472, 138489, 139275, 139283, 139284, 139300 and 139706. The model number is found on the safety label sewn to the pad cover. Consumers should contact Bravo Sports, 877-500-2459, www.airzonevariflex-recall.com, for instructions on how to inspect the trampoline for top rail damage and to request revised assembly instructions.
Cribs: Yardine Enterprises Ltd. is recalling Alexander Designs Ltd. brand drop-side cribs sold by JC Penney from March 2003 - April 2007. The drop-side rail hardware on the cribs can break or fail, allowing the drop side to detach from the crib. When the drop side detaches, a hazardous gap is created between the drop-side rail and the crib mattress in which infants and toddlers can become wedged or entrapped, posing risks of suffocation and strangulation. This recall involves full-size cribs sold under the Alexander Designs brand name. "Alexander Designs Ltd." and the JCPenney catalog/item number are printed on a label on the crib's headboard. Consumers should contact Jardine, 800-295-1980,www.jdservice.biz, to obtain a free repair kit that will immobilize the drop-side rail.
Jogging Strollers: Tike Tech Ltd. is recalling Single City X3 and X3 Sport Jogging Strollers sold October 2009 - February 2010. The opening between the grab bar and seat bottom of the stroller can allow an infant's body to pass through and become entrapped at the neck by the grab bar, posing a strangulation hazard. The recall involves the grab bar on Tike Tech Single City X3 and X3 Sport strollers. "Tike Tech" is printed on the footrest and on the back of the stroller on the left and right sides. Consumers should contact Tike Tech, 800-296-4602, www.tiketech.com, to receive a free replacement grab bar.
Strollers: Valco Baby is recalling Tri Mode Single and Twin Jogging Strollers sold November 2007 - March 2010. The opening between the grab bar and seat bottom of the stroller can allow an infant's body to pass through and become entrapped at the neck by the grab bar, posing a strangulation. This recall involves the grab bar on Tri Mode Single and Twin strollers. "Valco Baby" is printed on the head rest and the padding on the footboard. The grab bar is optional and can be removed from the stroller. Consumers should contact Valco Baby, 800-610-7850, www.valcobaby.com, to receive a free replacement grab bar.
Loft Beds: PBteen is recalling Sleep and Study Loft Beds sold January 2008 - July 2010. The side rail on the bed can crack allowing the mattress support to collapse, posing a fall and injury hazard. This recall involves PBteen Sleep and Study Loft beds in a variety of colors: espresso, honey, white and black. The bed is elevated and has a desk and bookcase underneath it. The beds were sold in the following colors: honey, black, espresso, and white. Consumers should immediately contact PBteen, 877-494-9822, www.pbteen.com, to schedule installation of a free replacement side rail support bracket.
