Art of Caring endowment fund reaches goal

A $2,000 donation pushed the Tamaqua Leo Club to reach their goal of raising $10,000 for their St Luke's Art of Caring Endowment Fund, which started in 2008 to benefit the St Luke's Miners Memorial Hospital Geriatric Department in Coaldale. The Leo's Art of Caring Endowment Fund works by making more than 100 pieces of donated framed artwork displayed throughout the hospital available for sponsorship by community organizations and individuals. Tamaqua Leo Club President Erin Zeigler, of West Penn, stated her great appreciation to all contributors, artists, and sponsors that made this possible. Paintings are still available for sponsorship. Anyone wanting to donate is encouraged to call Tamaqua Leo Club Advisor Fran Stahl at (570) 668-2699. The $2,000 donation was provided by Debbie Brabec of Jim Thorpe.
