Heavy rains which led to clogged storm drains in one part of Schuylkill County resulted in hundreds of flooded homes.

Fire companies from all these communities spent Thursday night and Friday morning pumping out all the water from affected homes.

Volunteers from the Schuylkill and Northumberland County as well as Berks Chapters of the American Red Cross spent Friday distributing hundreds of their disaster cleanup kits.

Each kit includes a bristle broom, brush broom, cleaning fluids, sponges, and various other miscellaneous cleaning supplies.
