Fairyland Road in Franklin Township is closed to traffic after a PPL utility pole caught fire during a severe downpour Thursday afternoon. Members of the Franklin Township Fire Company responded to the scene about 3:30 p.m. when it was reported a utility pole was on fire near the transformer. The road was closed to traffic between Lark and Evergreen roads for several hours. Township fire police maintained traffic control at the scene.
