3 break-ins reported in Tamaqua

Published November 29. 2010 05:00PM

Three Tamaqua businesses were broken into right before the Thanksgiving holiday.

Borough police responded to an alarm from the kitchen area at the Restaurant at the Station at 1:25 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 24. Officers discovered a broken window on the northwest side of the building. Once inside they found a large rock on the floor in the bar area. Several wine glasses were broken and the cooler was dented. Owners did an inventory and learned that two cash registers were missing. The building was secured.

While on patrol at 2:50 a.m. officers discovered that the glass had been removed from the door at the Station Fitness Center on West Broad Street. Owner Eric Orach responded and did a cursory search but found nothing to be missing.

The third break-in was discovered at Tommy's Restaurant on Railroad Street. Again, a glass window was smashed to gain entry.

Anyone with information concerning these incidents is asked to call police at (570) 668-5000.
