Tamaqua Elementary holds food drive

Students at the Tamaqua Elementary School recently collected more than 969 non-perishable food items for the Tamaqua Salvation Army. Mrs. Setser had the winning class with almost 200 cans collected. The winning class also received a special party in appreciation for their charitable efforts. Pictured from left are Tamaqua Elementary School Assistant Principal James J. Fasnacht, students Kevin Cochran, 11, Carson Schoener, 10, Tyrone Rarich, 11, Courtney Hoffman, 10, and Skylar Clouser, 11. Every year, all schools in the Tamaqua Area School District hold food drives for the Tamaqua Salvation Army. Any additional non-perishable food donations can be dropped off at the Tamaqua Salvation Army Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
