Thanksgiving dinners

A free community Thanksgiving dinner will be held from noon to 2 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 25, at St. John's Episcopal Church, 365 Lafayette Ave., Palmerton.

A community dinner will also be held at Faith Alive United Methodist Church from 1-3 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 20, 678 Pine St., Bowmanstown. Transportation and homebound delivery is available for county residents by prior arrangement. Palmerton Library

A Suicide Prevention and Awareness Workshop will be presented by Bernadette Gaumer, a licensed social worker with a master's degree, on Monday, Nov. 22 from 6-7:30 p.m. at the Palmerton Area Library. This workshop is for parents and teens. The event is free and open to all.

Volunteer program

The Palmerton Area Library has started a new volunteer program. Ask at the desk, or call (610) 826-3424 for information. Sign up to help shelve books, work in the book sale, decorate the display window, adopt a shelf, or help with the teen group. Individuals must be at least 13 years old.
