About 4 a.m. Sunday police and emgency personnel from Tamaqua, Hometown, Quakake, and McAdoo were called to SR309, north of Hometown, in Rush Township, for a one-vehicle accident. Police found a Chrysler Town and Country LXI van owned by Mobility Distributing Inc in McAdoo facing southbound in the northbound lane. The driver was not with the vehicle. A search for the driver was conducted by rescuers, but no one was found. Township police are investigating. Anyone with information concerning this accident is asked to call police. Hometown fire police volunteers closed the northbound lane during the search and vehicle removal.
