November 11, 1943 Nesquehoning closes its season on a positive note by posting a 13-0 shutout of West Hazleton. The winners, coached by Tony Mezza, open the scoring in the second quarter when Tolucci recovers Bob Drigan's fumble into the end zone. The key play during the 64-yard scoring drive is a 33-yard pass from Jack Drigan to Johnny Stianchi. The Nesquers tack on an insurance score late in the game when Drigan completes a 91-yard march with a one-yard TD plunge.
