Tamaqua Police and emergency personnel responded to a two-vehicle accident around 2:15 this morning in Tamaqua involving a motorcycle and a parked pickup truck that occurred on the 400 block of West Broad Street (SR209), located near the entrance to the Odd Fellows Cemetery. Reportedly, two riders of a blue and grey Harley Davidson were driving westbound on West Broad Street when they overshot the sharp turn leading to the "Pottsville Stretch" and collided head-on into a parked blue Ford F-250 Super Duty pickup truck which was facing east at the entrance to the Odd Fellows Cemetery. Both riders were taken to the hospital via ambulance. Tamaqua Police, Tamaqua Rescue, South Ward Fire Company, Citizens Fire Company, and Tamaqua Ambulance responded. Tamaqua Fire Police volunteers detoured traffic around that part of SR209. The names and conditions of the riders were unavailable as of press time.
