Members of Cub Scout Pack 138 distributed Scouting for Food bags last weekend.
This weekend, Saturday, Nov. 13, the scouts will be collecting the bags for residents that wish to donate canned goods to the local food pantries. The scouts will begin around 9 a.m. and are asking that the bags with the food items be placed on your porches.
Christmas Party set
Members of the Phoenix Fire Company will be holding their annual Christmas party at the fire company on Dec. 10. A meeting will be held at 6 p.m. with the gathering to follow.

Toys for Tots lists dates for registration
Registration for the Toys for Tots Campaign will take place on the following dates; Nov. 12, 13, 19, 20, Dec. 3, 4, 10 and 11, at the Salem Bible Fellowship Church, Mahoning Valley. The program is open to children up to 12 years of age and up to 14 years for special needs children.
A barrel is located at 22 E. 6th St., for anyone wishing to donate to the Marine Corps Toys for Tots campaign.

Meet your Police
Officer night slated
Jim Thorpe Mayor Michael Sofranko and borough police chief Joseph Schatz will hold a public meeting for "Meet Your Police Officer night" at 7 p.m. on Nov. 15, on the second floor of the Diligent Fire Company.
Come show your support. All Jim Thorpe community members are invited to attend the meeting.
