Published November 05. 2010 05:00PM

At Walnutport Council's meeting Thursday evening Council voted to make the north side of Pine Street no parking from North Lincoln Avenue to Oak Street.

In other business, President William Turk said that the new pavillion should be up at the Walnutport Playground by the beginning of December, and Councilman Matthew Newhard said that the Centennial Committee will be holding a meeting Nov. 14 at 6 p.m. in Borough Hall to discuss plans for the war memorial on Washington Street. The Centennial Committee is looking to draft a master plan for the project and apply for grants for it next year.

Secretary Annette Lacko said that Council is making a last call for applicants for the borough's newly reinstated Recreation Board. All interested parties should be a resident of Walnutport and a registered voter. For more information, call the Borough Office at 610-767-1322. Applications are due by Nov. 30, and Council will be appointing members of the board at their Dec. 2 workshop meeting.
