Free performance slated in Tamaqua
Area residents will have the opportunity to learn about Chinese culture tonight, as "Colorful China" is presented in the Tamaqua Area School District Auditorium. The performance features exquisite costumes, dances, songs and instrumentals showcasing the rich fabric of ethnicity of China.
The performance will be part of a month long tour for the troupe and will be presented to the public, free of charge, as part of a cultural exchange. The dances and musical performances will highlight the 56 ethnic groups that call China home by way of bright color costumes of unique, sophisticated styles with deep cultural meaning.
Sponsors include the Tamaqua Area School District, the Washington, D.C., Embassy of the People's Republic of China and World Artists Experiences.
The free 90 minute performance will begin at 6:30 p.m.
