Nesquehoning man found not guilty of illegal parking

Published May 18. 2010 05:00PM

A Nesquehoning man was found not guilty of parking his vehicle illegally on a snow emergency route during a snowfall.

John J. Barna, 78, of 32 E. Columbus Ave., appealed a ticket he received on Dec. 20 and a hearing was held at the office of District Judge Casimir Kosciolek on May 12.

Barna's vehicle was ticketed by officer Carl Breiner on the first block of East Columbus Ave. on Dec. 20 at 2:10 p.m. When Barna didn't pay the ticket, a summons was issued on April 26, resulting in the hearing.

It is alleged that Barna's car was parked on a street where parking is not permitted during a snow emergency.

Kosciolek ruled in favor of Barna during the hearing.
