Carbon County Democrats For Change meets May 24
SPECIAL TO THE TIMES NEWS CCDC President Linda Christman chats with Tony Hillerman and Jesse Walck, who served as bartenders at the recent reception hosted by the Carbon County Democrats for Change at Flow Restaurant in Jim Thorpe to honor members of the County Democratic Committee.
Carbon County Democrats for Change (CCDC) recently hosted a wine and cheese reception honoring the present and future members of the Carbon County Democratic Committee. The event was held at Flow Restaurant in Jim Thorpe.
Also present were members of the Democratic Executive Committee, and Democratic Row Officers.
It was an opportunity for the members of CCDC to get to know Committee members and to acknowledge their hard work and dedication to the Party in Carbon County. About fifty people attended the reception.
A basket raffle was held, proceeds of which will benefit the new Carbon County Democratic Election Headquarters, located 101 N. 1st St. (next to the Dollar General Store) in Lehighton.
Grand Opening and ribbon-cutting for the headquarters will be on May 19 at 6 p.m. and visitors are welcome.
The next regular CCDC meeting will be on May 25 at the Carbon Co. Democratic Election Headquarters. All of the Democratic Candidates selected in the primary will be invited. This is your chance to meet the candidates and take a look at the new headquarters. Refreshments will be served.
CCDC is a growing action group in Carbon County that supports progressive legislation and candidates at the national, state, and local level. Newcomers are always welcome.
