Beltzville State Park will hold its annual Get Outdoors PA Demo Day, Saturday, June 19, with the assistance of staff from Northeast PA Kayak School. They will offer a skill-building and safety course for kayakers of all levels and a second course specifically for experienced paddlers.

Staff from Eastern Mountain Sports will be at Pine Run boat launch with a variety of kayaks for participants to try and will give a free demonstration on kayaking gear. Pre-registration is required, and for information; contact Stephanie Strub at or 215-453-5015.

This program is part of a series of day activities that will be held at eastern state park, including guided daytrips for outdoor adventure-seekers that will be ongoing through October. Upcoming events include hiking the Falls Trail at Ricketts Glen State Park and Boone Trail at French Creek State Park, kayaking at Delaware Canal State Park and rock climbing at Ralph Stover State Park.

These recreational programs will give people the opportunity to learn and try new outdoors activities, visit and explore parks unfamiliar to them and meet people with similar interests. Car pooling will be available for most trips, and to receive e-mail updates or get more information about these programs, contact Strub at the previously listed e-mail and telephone number.
