Volunteers needed for playground work

At Walnutport's regular meeting of council held Thursday night the workday at the Walnutport Playground to spread mulch in the play equipment area that was scheduled for this Saturday was postponed until next Saturday, May 22, starting at 8 a.m.

Volunteers are needed to help spread mulch next Saturday. Councilman Matthew Newhard said that he would like to thank Reed Thomson for his donation of roofing rubber towards the project.

Newhard also said that the Centennial Committee's next meeting will be held May 23 at 7 p.m. in Borough Hall. The Centennial Committee will be discussing what they will be doing with their remaining funds. According to Newhard, the committee is thinking about teaming up with V.F.W. Post 7215 to work on the memorial park on Washington Street.
