Monroe Career and Technical students receive award from West End Fair

Pleasant Valley High School (PVHS) seniors Adam J. Rosiewicz III, James A. Dekmar, and John R. Groller, Stroudsburg High School's (SAHS) Ramon L Morales III, senior, Derek J. Delfino II, junior and East Stroudsburg South High School (ESSHS) senior Ronald D. Weidman were honored for their work in creating the West End Fair website by Robert Coleman, the Assistant Treasurer of the West End Fair.
Coleman, along with several officers and directors attended the Monroe Career and Technical Institute board of directors meeting on Monday, May 3 in order to present a plaque and ribbon to these fine students for their outstanding work.
Coleman said that he and the fair board were most impressed with the enthusiasm and professionalism these students displayed. Anne Shevrin, their teacher, was commended for her skill in working with the students.
The website www.westendfairgilbertpa.com was entered in the Pennsylvania State Association of County Fairs 2010 Convention Website Competition.
There are 114 county fairs in the state.
The Monroe County Career and Technical Institute Computer Programming students won second place.
They expressed determination to win first prize next year.
The school board was most impressed with these students and had no doubt that their determination and skill will cause them to succeed in 2011.
The school, faculty and especially Anne Shevrin and her students were highly commended by the members of the West End Fair.
