The Science Geeks are top 'snoops'

The Science Geeks of East Penn Elementary received first place awards for being the top team in the second and third grade (Snoops) division at the Carbon County Environmental Education Center's annual Envirothon, held at the facility which is located in Summit Hill. The Science Geeks included, front from left on rock, Jaden Scherer, Ethan Kish, Madison DeLuca and Sherry Snyder, third grade teacher and team advisor. Back, Emily Miller and Cameron Zerbe. Accompanying the team are, from left, Scott Dudley, Lions Club first vice district governor elect; Ed Dudley and Judy Dudley, Lions Club past district governors; and Rebecca Cunfer, assistant naturalist at CCEEC, back row right. The area Lions Clubs sponsored this year's event. Other teams that placed are: Plant Savers of Tamaqua Elementary; Amazons of Panther Valley Elementary; and The Cobras of Franklin Elementary.
