Palmerton's Lucas Christman had an outstanding tournament run that ended with a fourth place finish at the Pennsylvania Junior Wrestling State Championship held the weekend of March 27-28 in Wilkes-Barre.

The Pennsylvania Junior Wrestling State Championships are comprised of 53 different weight and age classes. Over 6,000 youth wrestlers from across the state entered the tournament at the district level this year.

Christman, who wrestles for the Palmerton Youth Wrestling Association, competed in the 8-and-under, 55-pound division.

Christman had to go through two qualifying tournaments to reach the state championships.

In the District tournament at Pocono Mountain, Christman earned a third-place finish to advance to the Regional level.

In the Regionals at LaSalle College in Philadlephia, Christman placed second to qualify for States. Only the top two in each weight class at Regionals advanced to States.
