St. Jerome MATHCOUNTS team places fifth

A team from St. Jerome Regional School, Tamaqua, captured fifth place in the Anthracite Chapter MATHCOUNTS competition held Saturday, Feb. 13 at Penn State, Schuylkill Campus. Twelve schools competed in the contest. MATHCOUNTS is a national middle school competitive mathematics program that promotes math achievement and enhance enthusiasm for the subject. Team mambers include, front from left, Matthew Karnish, James McKinley and Connor Roberts. Back row, Nico Agosti, Mark Postupack, Anthony Agosti and Michael McHale. Nicholas Mayernik was also a member of the team. Mrs. Alice Miller served as advisor.
