A team from St. Jerome Regional School, Tamaqua, captured fifth place in the Anthracite Chapter MATHCOUNTS competition held Saturday, Feb. 13 at Penn State, Schuylkill Campus. Twelve schools competed in the contest. MATHCOUNTS is a national middle school competitive mathematics program that promotes math achievement and enhance enthusiasm for the subject.
