The ladies auxiliary to the VFW Post 8008 will hold a meeting on Tuesday, April 13, at the post home beginning at 6:30 p.m. Nomination and election of officers for 2010-2011 will be held at the April meeting.
The 61st Anniversary dinner of the auxiliary's charter will be held on Thursday, April 22 at 6 p.m., at Macaluso's. Reservations are required. Contact Maureen at (570) 669-9578 to make your reservation. Deadline is April 18.
The annual Easter Egg Hunt held at the Nesquehoning Recreation Center will take place on Saturday, April 3 at 1 p.m.
Registration, for Nesquehoning children up to the age of 10 only, is during bingo hours at the recreation center on Wednesdays between 5 p.m. and 10 p.m.
Holy Week schedule for the Trinity Lutheran Church in Lansford will be Holy Thursday, April 1 at 1 p.m. with worship service and Holy Communion. Good Friday Tenebrae on April 2 at 7 p.m. service.
Easter Sunday at 9 a.m. worship service with Holy Communion. All are welcome to attend.
Class of 1960
The Summit Hill High School Class of 1960 will have a meeting to begin plans for a 50-year reunion on Thursday, April 1, at 7 p.m. in the Summit Hill Borough Hall. All classmates are invited to attend.

The Rev. James Burdess, pastor of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Summit Hill, has announced the Holy Week schedule at the church as follows:
Holy Wednesday, March 31 - "Encountering the Merciful Savior" confessions from 6-8 p.m.
Holy Thursday, April 1 - Commemoration of the Last Supper, 7 p.m.; and Personal Reflection "in the Garden," until the 10 p.m. night prayer.
Good Friday, April 2 - Liturgical Commemoration of the Passion, noon; and Personal Reflection "at the Tomb," until 10 p.m. night prayer.
Holy Saturday, April 3 - Easter basket blessing, 11 a.m.; Easter egg hunt, noon; and Easter Vigil Mass, 8 p.m.
Easter Sunday, April 4 - Masses at 7, 9 and 11 a.m.
The Summit Hill Lions Club is offering a $250 award to a graduating senior from Marian Catholic and Panther Valley High School for community service. For more information on this award, contact the guidance counselor at your respective high school.

The Summit Hill Fire Department is seeking recipes for its cookbook. If interested, drop recipes at the borough hall, St. Joseph Church, the Presbyterian Church, Hiles Brothers or Breslin's.
