Children at Curious Kids Play and Learn Place at First Presbyterian Church, Lehighton, recently learned the important life lesson of giving to those less fortunate then themselves.

The youngsters collected over 200 food items, packed them and transported the items to the Lehighton Food Pantry, where they helped unload the items.

"I was surprised that children this young would grasp the concept," said Valerie Rimbey, a staff member. "They were really into it."

Assisting the young children were Joan Mertz of First Presbyterian, who helped the children transport the food items down Third Street from the care center to the food pantry.

The owner/operator of Curious Kids Play and Learn Place is Charleen Sterling. Other staff members assisting were Shavon Schmidt and Miranda Shollenberger.
