Eckhart, Strawser shine at Pa. State Championships

Twin City Powerlifing Club members excelled at the Pennsylvania State Championships this past weekend at State College.

The team was led by strongmen Rob Eckhart and Jesse Strawser of Lehighton; veteran lifter Nick Theodoru of Palmer Township; and football player turned lifter Brandon Mauro of Bangor.

The lifters pushed and pulled these impressive weights without assistance of supersuits, American RAW style and drug-free. They competed in bench press, squat and dead lift.

Eckhart placed first in the open 242-pound class with a total lift of 1,624 pounds. His individual lifts were 545, 523 and 556.

Strawser placed first in the Junior 275-pound class. He had a total lift of 1,740 pounds. His individual lift totals were 622, 501 and 617.
