Driver is unhurt in Carbon crash

Zachary V. Demarcantonio, 21, of Sharon Hill, Pa., escaped injury in a one-vehicle crash Monday at 9:02 p.m. on Township Route 516 (Old Stage Road) in Penn Forest Township.

State police at the Fern Ridge barracks said he was driving a 1999 Mercury Cougar westbound when he lost control of the vehicle, causing it to go off the south side of the road and strike a tree with its driver's side. The vehicle sustained disabling damages and came to rest on the south side of the roadway facing west.

Polilce said Demarcantonio was cited after the crash.
